Funny Sayings from Kids: At our swimming party, I heard one girl say, “This is the most fun I’ve ever had!”

There was one time when we had a little misunderstanding with discipline.  I turned out that I was mixed up, and I apologized to the class for not understanding the situation and for being grouchy.  One girl said, “Just go home and take a 25 hour nap.  Then you won’t be grouchy.  That’s what I do.” . . .If only I had the luxury of taking a 25 hour nap!

Special Activities: This week we had several special activities.  A leprechaun trashed our room and left us a treat.  We had a swimming party because we earned it with good behavior, and we needed to practice to swim for P.E. throughout April.  We also had a magic show, which was an assembly that the school earned through getting plastic coins for good behavior.

Academics: This week in math we learned about adding nines, coloring in fractions on a shape, and the what the word “dozen” means.   In writing, we continued working on complete sentences through various journal writing prompts.  Our reading and spelling focus was bossy r (if an r follows a vowel, it changes the vowels sound as in car).  In social studies, we talked about St. Patrick’s Day  This week for science, we experimented with paper airplanes to see what makes them fly the best.  We used the scientific method and practiced writing along with this.
