Hi! I'm Mr. Smith. I love teaching!! This year will be my second year of teaching 1st grade at Urie Elementary. Here's more about me:
My wife and I both grew up in small towns. I'm from Randolph, Utah, and she's from Afton, Wyoming. Our ambition has always been to settle down in a small town. We're thrilled to be living in the Bridger Valley fulfilling that dream. After leaving home, I lived in Canada for a semester and Australia for two years. Other than that, I'm a small town boy, and I'd like to keep it that way.
While growing up in a rural area, I learned to pass the time in a variety of ways. My many interests include fishing, playing piano, playing sports, swimming, hiking, camping, reading, writing, quilting, baking, hunting, horseback riding, juggling, and kayaking. Most of all I just love to have fun and spend time with family.
I enjoy kids, and I'm used to being around them because I have thirty-three nieces and nephews (27 on my side of the family and 6 on my wife's side). In June 2012 we had our first baby, and we're loving being parents. . .except for when he doesn't let us get any sleep :).
I have a passion for teaching and appreciate the opportunity to teach my 2012-2013 class!
