Funny sayings from kids: The only thing I jotted down this week was a student talking about a family trip to visit a friend that lives in "Hannah Montana" (meaning the state Montana). She had the state "Montana" mixed up with the TV show "Hannah Montana." It was really cute.
Academics: Students had a lot of testing this week. I will be contacting you about how your student did. Because of this, we did a lot of review for reading and spelling, and we also tried to fill in gaps in students' understanding. For math, we introduced adding two digit numbers. This is a big concept for kids, but they did well. In social studies we discussed the history of toys. The kids really enjoyed that. For science we went to the science fair, and we did an experiment about floating.
