Happy Easter and Spring Break!!!

Special Activities: Next week I'll write more--as usual--but this week I just wanted to post some pictures and report on our party.  We had an excellent Easter party, planned by parents.  We had a lot of fun Easter egg games.  The kids played egg mini golf.  They also played egg races by balancing the egg on a spoon, as well as having egg races by pushing the egg with their noses.  They also did egg math facts where they matched up the top and bottom of the plastic egg to make a correct math fact.

Besides the games, students got delicious treats and made marshmallow shooters.  We went outside on the grass and students had a blast practicing shooting marshmallows.

Social Studies: This week for social studies we talked about our justice system, and we've been enacting it as a class.  Each day there are student cops that give tickets to students who are misbehaving.  Later the cop and the person in trouble each get to speak about the incident.  Then the jury (the class) votes to see if the person is guilty or not.  Then the judge (me-the teacher) sentences them for their behavior.  It's been fun for the students to personally connect with how our legal system works!!
